The Shakti Oscilloscope provides a simple way to see the signals as they are being produced. It's not essential for running sessions. |
Instead of monitoring the microphone for sound coming in, The Shakti oscilloscope monitors the sound going out. This is called a "Loopback", because the sound is 'looped back' into the sound card as it's being played.
Not all sound devices support this function. USB sound devices often can't do it at all. Most ordinary sound cards have no problem with it.
Windows Vista does not support it. If you want to see the signals under Windows Vista, you will need to use a cable. Click here for more information.
The Shakti Oscilloscope has two displays. The bottom one is an oscilloscope, and the top one is a VU meter.
The top channel is the left stereo channel, and the bottom channel is the right stereo channel.
