EVENT-RELATED POTENTIAL SIGNAL
The Event-Related Potential is a signal is derived from a common
EEG signature where it represents a cortical response to an event or stimulus.
It can activate specific areas of the surface of the brain.
Some possible target areas for the signal are the angular gyrus on the right side (possible enhancing your chances
for an OBE), the cerebellum (some anecdotal accounts exist of Cerebellar stimulation inducing elation), the left
temporal lobe (also a possibility for elation), and the right temporal lobe (possibility of ineffable sensations).
Frontal lobe response to this signal may not be as dramatic as temporal lobe response, but remember a basic safety
rules, that stimulating only the frontal or temporal lobes is unwise. Alternate between the temporal lobes and
the frontal lobes regularly.
Be aware of the possibility of irritability following this signal on the left side, and of anxiety or fear following
this signal on the right side. If they occur, do not repeat the session.
This signal should be considered as untested. If you are not comfortable using untested signals, do not use this
one.
When beginning to use any signal, it's a good idea to begin with shorter sessions.
When you're planning to use a signal over only one side, it's good to try it over
each side to see which side feels best with that signal for you.
Although the crucial point about the Shakti signals is their shape, the volume
is also important. The Event-Related Potential signal, due to it's very low frequencies, requires a higher volume
than the others. The small file that tells the Shakti Signal Generator where to set the volume for this signal
is set to adjust it for this difference, but it's based on a desktop computer using a Sound Blaster Sound card.
Use this chart to set your volume depending on what kind of sound device you are using. These values are only approximate,
and some devices will not have enough power to produce the signal at it's correct level.
