This is a 20 minute session. It consists of a signal derived from the Fibonacci series playing for about four minutes, followed by five and a quarter minutes of a signal derived from the hippocampus. This cycle repeats once. Do not use this until after you have read the information about the hippocampus in these pages. If you have done this, then you should already know that the hippocampal signal is more likely to have positive effects when applied over the right side, or over both sides, but not over the left side. The Fibonacci series is a string of numbers that form a set of proportions found in the natural world. It describes the growth of shellfish, the path of moths into a flame, the shape of tropical stormclouds, the branching patterns seen in plants and river deltas, and many other patterns in nature - patterns of growth and form. In this example, the magnetic field goes up and down in strength at each Fibonacci 'node' or harmonic. The Fibonacci numbers are 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55 ... (add the last two to get the next)
This is a four-phase session applying the two signals for a few minutes each. It's designed to avoid habituation, so that the brain experiences a novel stimulation every few minutes. The result can be a burst of response each time the signals changes. In beginning to use this session design, you should start off using it over the temporal lobes. |
